2015/015: New Funding Opportunities for African Elephant Conservation

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is pleased to inform you of the recent contribution of  €500,000 by the German Government towards the African Elephant Fund.  This replenishment is earmarked to combat elephant poaching and trafficking of elephant products.

The Secretariat encourages Parties and relevant organizations to propose projects that target elephant anti-poaching activities in Africa, in  line with CMS Appendix II which lists both Loxodonta africana and Loxodonta cyclotis.  The Secretariat will strive to support these proposals with letters of endorsement.

Anyone who is eligible and interested in submitting a project proposal to the African Elephant Fundthat supports CMS goals is requested to please contact:
